Die Welt scheint sich \u00fcberall schneller zu drehen, auch hier in Asien oder besonders hier. Moni hat vor 25 Jahren in Bangkok gewohnt und hat die Stadt nicht wiedererkannt. Auch von meinen Besuchen von vor ca. 15 Jahren ist nicht viel \u00fcbrig geblieben. Zwar sind die historischen Touristen-Highlights wie Tempel und Pal\u00e4ste noch \u00e4hnlich, aber der Rest der Stadt ist moderner, technsischer und westlicher geworden.<\/p>\n

But neather Moni nor I did recognize the city anymore. Well, the traditional stuff like the palast and the temples are still the same, but the rest of the city is much more modern, high-tech and more westernized. <\/em><\/p>\n

Sp\u00e4ter bekam man an vielen Grenzen das Visum f\u00fcr eine willk\u00fcrlich Geb\u00fchr und bei Bedarf stundenlangem Warten. Heute? Im \u00e4rmsten asiatischen Land ist High-Tech angekommen. Das E-Visa. Einfach unter http:\/\/evisa.mfaic.gov.kh\/<\/a> online beantragen, 25 US$ per Kreditkarte zahlen und das Visa kommt als PDF, ausdrucken – fertig.<\/p>\n

Visa: in the past you had to send you passport to the embassy in Germany – waiting for weeks, hoping to get it back before your trip. Later you had to apply at the border for the visa, paying a fortune – depending on the officer – and maybe waiting for hours. Today, the poorest country of Asia – Cambodia – has e-visa. Just apply at http:\/\/evisa.mfaic.gov.kh\/<\/a>, pay 25 US$ by credit-card and you get withhin 2 days the visa by PDF – print it – done.<\/p>\n
