The largest eruption of a volcano in new history happened 1991 when the Pinatubo blew up. Most of us should still remember this. <\/em><\/p>\n

You see the top of the montain on the other side – catually the caldera top? The top of the Pinatubo was 300m above that one. And yes, the lake was not there, it was all a solid mountain. <\/em><\/p>\n

Seht Ihr den Berg auf der anderen Seite – also die Aussenkante der Caldera? Der Pinatubo war noch 300 m h\u00f6her als diese Kante. Und der See, ja das war alles massiver Berg. Das ist in die Luft geflogen. Das Gesteinsvolumen kann man sich gut vorstellen. Ein Block 1 km hoch, 1 km breit und 10 km lang!<\/p>\n

Und das Material muss ja irgendwo hin. Ging um die ganze Welt. Aber in der N\u00e4he, also so ein paar km entfernt sind die Ascheschichten bis zu 200m dick. Fl\u00fcsse sp\u00fclen diese frei. Diese Wand rutschte gerade ab, als wir vorbeifuhren.<\/p>\n
