Most of Madagascar’s travellers tend to enter the country through the capital’s airport and also most of them tend to spend as less time as possible in this apparently unappealing city. However, the big city does have something to offer for those who decide to stay a little longer. Madagascar’s Capital is divided into three different levels, which are linked by really crowded stairways leading to the upper city boroughs, which are full of traditional red-earth brick houses.\u00a0 Basically, we can differentiate between the downtown (ancient swamp), the some intermediate level (known as \u201cPlateau du Colbert\u201d and located in the middle of the cliffs, and the old city in upper town (\u201cLa Haute ville\u201d), where Palaces (Queen’s palace, ancient Prime Minister Rainilaiarivony palace, ancient Justice palace), cathedrals and the residential area of (mostly) ancient noblemen families are located. From here, visitors enjoy a nice perspective of the city below far away from the hassle of downtown.<\/p>\n

Wie Timo schon geschrieben hat, sind wir gut in der Hauptstadt Antananarivo angekommen. Der Kurzname ist Tana. Es hat direkt angefangen zu regnen, sowie aus Eimern und das hat uns direkt an Manila erinnert. Es ist jetzt wohl Regenzeit, aber so wie wir das mitgekriegt haben, regnet es nur abends. Unser Hotel ist ganz Ok, keine Ratten und Kakerlaken bis jetzt :-). Nachdem wir uns gestern Abend frischgemacht hatten, sind wir in ein Restaurant schr\u00e4g gegen\u00fcber und ich kann nur sagen: exzellent. Ein sehr uriges Restaurant mit franz\u00f6sischer K\u00fcche. Haben Foie Grass Pastete und Zebu ( einheimisches Rind mit Riesenh\u00f6rnern) gegessen, war k\u00f6stlich und gar nicht mal so teuer.
\nWir haben gut geschlafen, weil sehr m\u00fcde.
\nHeute morgen sind wir dann los und haben uns die Stadt angeschaut. Ich war erstaunt, wie stark die Engl\u00e4nder und die Franzosen hier ihre Handschrift hinterlassen haben. Ja, das Land ist arm und es gibt bettelnde Kinder, aber das gab es auch in S\u00fcd-Ostasien. Der Markt war bunt, alles sah lecker aus und es gibt hier nix aus China. Endlich mal was v\u00f6llig anderes. Ich habe tolle Sachen gesehen. Edelsteine, Holzschnitzereien, Lederwaren ( also Taschen und Schuhe:-) juhuuu, bevor wir nach Hause fliegen, gehen wir einkaufen. Ich habe auch ne alte Overlok N\u00e4hmaschine von Singer entdeckt, die will ich unbedingt haben, die kann man sonst nirgendwo mehr kaufen. Die schleppe ich eigenh\u00e4ndig nach Hause und w\u00fcrde am liebsten 10 St\u00fcck davon kaufen. In Deutschland w\u00fcrde ich mind. das 50 fache daf\u00fcr bekommen.
\nAlso, alles ist gut. Sehr interessante Stadt. Morgen sehen wir noch mehr. Gleich gehen wir wieder lecker essen.<\/p>\n
